I started Freshly back in 2012 with my co-founder, with the idea that we could make it a little easier for people to eat healthier in Tucson, Arizona. In just a few months, we had expanded into Phoenix; in a few more months, Freshly was in homes across all of Arizona. Shortly after, we took on the entire west coast, then the western half of the US, and eventually all 48 continental US states. This journey took us nearly ten years, thousands of cups of coffee, endless sleepless nights, lots of laughs, a few tears, and more than our fair share of cheers. A more magical journey, I could not have imagined.
It is bittersweet for me as I announce today that I am resigning as the CEO of Freshly, and that I will be stepping into an advisory role. While I am sad to leave behind the amazing employees and customers who have made this journey so worthwhile, I am incredibly grateful to have had the chance to lead an amazing team on this mission to help people eat healthier. I never could have imagined that in my time leading this team, we would do more than one billion dollars in revenue and ship over one hundred million meals across the country.
While I am stepping aside, I am confident that the Freshly journey is just kicking into high-gear. There are many wonderful things coming out of Freshly over the next year, and I am thrilled and humbled to see where the company will continue to grow.
I am ready for the next chapter in my journey, and I am looking forward to incorporating all of the lessons I learned with Freshly into a brand new company (and a new industry). I am incredibly excited to see if we can build something even bigger. Stay tuned…
A sincere thank you to everyone who made this journey so incredible, especially our Freshly team, our customers, our investors, and all of our families.
